FCR, the premier provider of outsourced live agent call center and business process solutions, announced today that it is collaborating with the American Red Cross during the month of February to increase local blood donations. The initiative is part of FCR’s ongoing efforts to help the local communities through its Community Alliance Team (C.A.T.).

“Blood supplies are always at critically low levels in the United States so there is always a need for blood donors. Just one pint of blood can save up to three people, and our goal is to get as many donations as we can to help save lives,” said Sonya Stalberger, Vice President of Call Center Operations. “We are very pleased to partner with an organization like the American Red Cross and to make a real impact in our community.”

“The American Red Cross will be at every one of our call center facilities to provide the qualified personnel who will confidentially screen donors, collect the blood donations, and to ensure professional and safety procedures are followed,” said Lori Ann Sullivan, Director of HR at FCR.  “We anticipate a minimum of 200 blood donors to come from our colleagues and the public at large.”

According to the American Red Cross, someone in the U.S. needs blood every two seconds, and more than 41,000 blood donations are needed every day. Blood donations are not only needed in emergencies, but also for people affected by diseases like Sickle Cell Anemia, Cancer, Hemophilia, liver diseases, and for common surgical procedures.
