FCR, the premier provider of outsourced live agent call center and business process solutions, participated in a beach cleanup event this past weekend. FCR’s Coos Bay Community Alliance Team, or CAT, partnered with the organization SOLVE and Oregon Sate Parks to help cleanup the Bastendorff Beach Park near Charleston, Oregon.
“Our Community Alliance Teams are doing great things to give back to the communities we live in,” said Tal Mashat, Vice President of Operations for FCR’s Southern Region. “We are very proud of the commitment our colleagues have shown with events like this beach cleanup. It’s a simple and fun way to give back to the communities that we are privileged to live and work in.”

She added, “Giving back to those communities and volunteering our time is part of our culture and something we enjoy doing.”
The beach cleanup was part of the annual Spring Oregon Beach Cleanup, a statewide initiative to keep Oregon beaches free of litter and to reduce the harmful impact to marine wildlife. According to SOLVE, litter and marine debris are a serious environmental problem and are often confused by birds, fish, and other marine wildlife as food, resulting in malnutrition, entanglement, or strangulation. Toxic chemicals from things like cigarette butts also flow into the rivers and streams, and eventually the ocean, where they are consumed by marine life. If people consume seafood they may also ingest the contaminants and toxins from the litter. FCR had around 20 CAT members from the Coos Bay contact center volunteer their time on Saturday, March 28th, as part of its ongoing community outreach and giveback program.
