FCR’s 2015 Blood Donations Save Over 1,000 Lives

ROSEBURG, OR – NOVEMBER 25, 2015

FCR, the premier provider of outsourced live agent call center and business process solutions, announced its annual blood drive results today for the year 2015. FCR’s locations in Roseburg, Grants Pass, Coos Bay, and Veneta hosted several blood drives throughout the year, in partnership with the American Red Cross, collecting 387 units of blood over the entire year.

Each unit of blood collected has the potential to save up to 3 lives. Through the efforts of FCR’s colleagues, who both provide donations and coordinate the events with the public, FCR potentially saved up to 1,161 lives in 2015. The company’s location in Roseburg collected a record setting 163 units of blood, which saved a potential of 489 lives.

“All of our blood drives are open to the public, and our Community Alliance Teams (CAT) coordinate the event with the Red Cross teams, who perform all of the health checks and blood collections,” said Valerie Gordon, Senior Recruiter for FCR. She added, “There is always a need for blood throughout the entire year. In fact, every two seconds someone in the U.S. needs blood for things like emergencies, surgeries, and every day blood transfusions for the treatment of conditions like sickle cell disease, kidney disease, hemophilia, and cancer.”

“We are very happy to partner with the American Red Cross in this initiative,” said Sonya Stalberger, Vice President of Call Center Operations for FCR. She added, “This partnership began as a one-time event with our Community Action Teams, but proved to be so popular and successful that we made the decision to host blood drives every sixty days, which is just enough time needed for a donor to recover between each donation. The blood drive schedule encourages repeat donations from our colleagues and the public.”

FCR has already scheduled and confirmed its Red Cross blood drives for 2016. All of the drives will take place at the following locations and dates listed below.  The public is welcomed to come out and donate and can pre-register online at www.redcross.org/blood.
